Paul Roberts, from a seventh generation Texas family, began his career as sommelier at Houston’s esteemed Café Annie, ranked by Gourmet Magazine as one of the top 20 restaurants in the United States. There he became the 48th Master Sommelier in the world, earning the prestigious honor of the Krug Cup. He was the sixth person in MS history to also win the Krug Cup, and the first Texan to become a Master Sommelier. From 2003-2008 Paul held the position of Wine Director for the Thomas Keller Restaurant Group. Throughout the course of his career with Chef Keller, he earned seven Michelin stars, retiring from restaurants as the most Michelin-starred sommelier in the United States. He then became Estate Director for BOND Estates, dedicated to producing the Grand Crus of the Napa Valley, and in 2013, he joined the Colgin Cellars team as COO, a perfect match of talent, passion and place.
