Herb Lamb Vineyard Tychson Hill Vineyard Cariad IX Estate

Tychson Hill Vineyard
Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2000 vintage was the first bottling of Colgin Cellars' estate grown "Tychson Hill Vineyard" Cabernet Sauvignon. The unique Aiken soil type coupled with carefully selected rootstock and clones closely spaced on the east-facing slope gives a strong personality to the wines. Winemaker, Mark Aubert feels that these factors coupled with the meticulous vine care and low yields create a wine of great proportions. "The Aiken soils give a remarkable fresh berry scented wine unlike any Cabernet Sauvignon I have ever tasted" proclaimed Aubert.

Vintages: 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007
Annual Production: 250 cases (approximately)

Herb Lamb Vineyard

Aromas of ripe, dense, black fruits coupled with a strong blueberry essence and floral notes showcase the wonderful terroir of the Herb Lamb Vineyard. The first vintage for Colgin Herb Lamb was 1992. The wine is aged in 100% new Taransaud barrels. These wines have a voluptuous texture and lingering finish.

Cariad
Napa Valley Red Wine

The 1999 Cariad marks Colgin's first-ever bottling of a Bordeaux Style Blend. Cariad is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The grapes all come from vineyards owned by our esteemed vineyard manager, David Abreu. The Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are from the famed Madrona Ranch Vineyard and the Petit Verdot is from Thorevilos Vineyard. The word "cariad" means love in Welsh. The wine embodies the structure that has become a hallmark of Colgin wines: bright jammy fruit aromas and character combined with soft ripe tannins. Cariad is hedonistic in its complexity.

Vintages: 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007
Annual Production: 500 cases (approximately)

IX Estate
Napa Valley Red Wine

At elevations from 940 to over 1400 feet, this extremely rocky estate vineyard site overlooking Lake Hennessey produces wines with great depth and complexity. IX Estate is planted with rare selections of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Each year the blend emphasizes the low yielding, voluptuous and concentrated aspect of this unique terroir. The wines are exotic and sophisticated.

Vintages: 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007
Annual Production: 1200 cases (approximately)

IX Estate
Syrah

Deeply saturated black in color with wild blackberry, pepper and a sauvage note of game and animal, the IX Estate Syrah is a show stopper. The wine displays the pedigree of its Cote Rotie and Hermitage clones planted in a site that seems made for this varietal.

Vintages: 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007
Annual Production: 300 cases (approximately)
