Colgin Cellars participates in numerous charity events around the United States each year. We feel that it is important to give to causes meaningful to us and we are happy to support carefully selected charities involving healthcare, community services and the arts. Our donations including large format bottles and rare vertical selections have generated more than five million dollars to date!
An accomplished auctioneer, Ann Colgin also donates her time on the podium to a few charity wine auctions. We are providing here a listing of events that we are supporting in the upcoming months. Set along Highway 29, the Tychson Hill Vineyard was originally planted in 1881 and restored by Ann Colgin in 1996, its rare Aiken soil and rocky east-facing slope has consistently produced wine of elegance and power. If Colgin’s Tychson Hill has a flaw, it is only its scarcity.
From this vineyard rooted in history, Colgin Cellars presents an extremely rare vertical of three etched and numbered Double Magnums of 2003, 2004 and 2005 Tychson Hill Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. A stunning trio of wines; these vintages from this “noble site” are all remarkable for the exceptional aromas of acacia, cassis and berry that soar from the glass. Dense and full-bodied, these are wines of enormous richness and length, each a candidate for wine of their respective vintage. Rare among Cabernets this profound, these wines can be enjoyed as early as a few years after release, or they can be aged for many, many years.

Colgin Cellars has a deep-rooted passion for producing wines of great concentration, purity and depth which defines the 2004 Tychson Hill Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. This lot presents two amazing etched and numbered large format bottlings of Colgin's 2003 "IX Estate" Napa Valley Red Wine. A never before released Salmanazar (holding a complete case of wine) is bottle number three of only four produced of this size. While you wait for the perfect occasion to open this massive bottle, the same wine in magnum will allow a preview of the wine's evolution.
A blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, and a dollop of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, Colgin's 2003 vintage demonstrated how fabulous the fruit from its estate vineyard can be. Beautiful scents of spring flowers, blackberries, and cassis are stunningly pure and complex. This opulent, intense, well-balanced, compelling, full-bodied wine can be enjoyed now or cellared for decades.
A bottle this remarkable demands a decanter of similar quality and uniqueness. Inspired by this rarity, William Yeoward Crystal of the UK has specially created for the Naples Winter Wine Festival a "one of a kind" Salmanazar size crystal carafe, named "Bella." Called "the world's most glamorous Crystal," Yeoward's designs have won international acclaim and are based upon the goal of preserving the beautiful crystal designs of the 18th and 19th centuries. Hand made in England, this unique carafe makes it possible for a large format bottles, up to nine liters in size, to be safely decanted into a single carafe.
As a carafe of this size is quite heavy when filled with wine, the Lot also includes three William Yeoward Crystal Magnum Carafes, so that the decanted wine can be transferred to smaller sized carafes for serving at the table. The Bella carafe is engraved with the Colgin logo, and all four carafes are signed by William Yeoward and come with a Limited Edition Certificate.

This phenomenal, never before released horizontal from Colgin Cellars includes one Magnum and three 750 ml bottles of every wine produced by Colgin in the highly acclaimed 2004 vintage. This 24 bottle collection includes the Herb Lamb Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Tychson Hill Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Cariad Red Wine, IX Estate Red Wine, IX Estate Syrah and the extremely limited production Jubilation Merlot - made only from select lots and not in every vintage. As a result of its miniscule production - only 89 cases in 2004 - Jubilation is not publicly released nor sold to Colgin's mailing list.
